Since 2006 my wife and I and children have been venturing to Disney World about 2 to 3 times a year. During our trips we stayed at several resorts, however after about the 4th or 5th trip we tried the Floridian. Since we never stay at any other resort. While the price of staying there is almost double of most standard resorts, the amenities are well worth the price. The campus is much smaller so walking from your building to a pool, dinning and to the monorail are much easier. At the end of the day, coming back from a great day at the parks, the last thing you want is a very long walk back to your room. At the Floridian you don’t have this as an issue either by boat, bus, monorail or car, you walk is half the distance of most of the resorts.
The dining is top notch! The Grand Floridian Cafe is excellent food with a smaller, less formal experience. The Gasparilla Island Grill is the cafeteria with good food as well. The Character Dinning is called 1900 Park Fare including characters such as Alice, Mary Poppins, Tiger and everyone’s favorite, the Mad Hatter! There are also the higher end options such as Narcoossee’s and Victoria & Albert’s amazing dining experiences. For those looking for a nice spot of tea, there is the Garden View Tea Room, meant for the young princesses and family to enjoy some lighter foods and tea. Finally, as it comes to the food and drinks, there is the concierge option which is includes food and non alcoholic drinks all day, until the evening. During the evening there is drinks and cordials and deserts served, which is all you can eat/drink.
There are almost many other amenities such as the Spa, never have done it myself, but am always told is some of the finest experiences when trying to relax. We end up to busy with the parks and having fun to “relax”! 🙂
The friendly Cast, the clean bright look and feel to the resort and the amazing food really create a very memorable experience enhancing and already magical trip.
